So, I’ve been off the radar for a while. I was in Toronto, got some ink, then I went to NYC for a while. I saw the Appleseed Cast with Chin Up Chin Up, great show. Now I’m in Syracuse. I just saw Star Wars, Revenge of the Sith. What did you think? Leave a comment. Let me know.
Monkey, out….
I guess having a billion dollars, but living on a ranch in the north bay will keep a little liberal in a person.
Indeed he does. He is definitely a different guy than he was in that 95-2000 period. He’s become the man, man. Some of it has to do with tax breaks or something. Regarding the original topic (somewhat), here’s a quote from George Lucas: “The parallels between what we did in Vietnam and what we’re doing in Iraq now are unbelievable.”
My friend Travis says that the series was originally devised as an allegory on Vietnam, imperial US defeated by small guerilla tactics. Maybe his views are still the same, but billions of dollars will change a person.
Jason likes Bush?
Spuunko argues that the script was written 30 years ago and there’s no way it references W…but he loves him some Bush.
I read a review that said, “Leave it to Lucas to make a political film a year after the election.”
YES! Absolutely.
Did anyone else come away thinking George Lucas’ real message was “George Bush represents everything wrong with humankind and is the single greatest enemy to our great nation”?
I liked it much more than I expected to, although I thought the transition to Darth Vader happened much too quickly. Still, it was very entertaining and certainly the best of the three.
I think you should have some pics of your ink, that’s what I think. I also think that out of episodes 1,2, and 3, this was the best overall (2 had it’s moments though). Spuunko (the clone) and I saw it twice, back to back, opening night. The most rewarding part was when we stayed in the theatre between shows and got the best seats, then had this guy walk in who had obviously just spent 2 hours in line expecting to have his pick say “what the fuck?!” and proceed to fume to his girl for the next 45 minutes. I also liked the ob/gyn-bot that kept saying “ooh-bahh, ooh-bahh” when Leia was being born. Did you see the Millenium Falcon pulling into dock about half way through the movie?
monkey around…
